The civil parish of Lavant is part of the Chichester district of West Sussex and is easily reached on the A286. Lavant is a short drive from Goodwood Airfield and Goodwood House. Midhurst can be reached by continuing north on the A286.

Lavant is made up of three villages – West Lavant, East Lavant and Mid Lavant. The parish takes its name from the River Lavant which flows from East Dean and enjoys a public house and a number of historic cottages.

On the border of the parish lies the delightful Kingley Vale nature reserve which is a popular with walkers, offering splendid views of the city of Chichester and beyond. Kingley Vale is well worth a visit before you drop in to the Lavant Fete.
