Just as the leaves turn beautiful colours and eventually fall from the trees at this particular time of year, so other developments come to pass. One such change that has taken place is that David and Linda Stone have departed The Gribble Inn and headed off in the direction of Salisbury in Wiltshire.

David and Linda have hosted George’s Regis Jazz Band at The Gribble Inn on many a jazz night and this has led to the formation of a band within a band, in the form of what is known informally as The Gribble Band. Although the line-up changes to accommodate other commitments and life events, the essential core of players is:

George Bennet on drums
Peter Dorday on trumpet, banjo and vocals
Alan Kennington on double bass
Derek Little on clarinet
Chris Newman on piano

We now welcome Simon as the new landlord. We will be playing on Tuesday evening, the 1st of December 2009 as previously arranged. Further engagements at The Gribble will be discussed in the coming weeks. Come on down – we would love to see you there and Simon will be very pleased to meet you!
